Snus on holiday & when travelling
6 min read · May 2026
Do you enjoy travelling and don't want to miss your nicotine pouch on holiday? No problem – in most European countries, this is not an issue. But there are a few things you should know beforehand.
Snus & nicotine pouches on the plane
Nicotine pouches can generally be taken in hand luggage – they are not subject to the liquid rule and do not contain any tobacco that would trigger any special regulations.
✓ This is allowed
Transporting nicotine pouches in hand luggage, stowing them in checked baggage, taking several cans for personal use.
✈ Consumption on the plane – depends on the airline
There is no general ban on nicotine pouches on board. Some airlines explicitly allow it, others prohibit all nicotine products on board. Check the conditions of the respective airline briefly before the flight.
Classic tobacco snus falls under tobacco products – with tobacco-free pouches, you are generally on the safe side.
Hand luggage or checked baggage?
Both work. However, we recommend packing at least a day's supply in your hand luggage – in case your suitcase gets lost or your journey is delayed.
Nicotine pouches are compact and light. A can fits easily into any jacket pocket or toiletry bag – and causes no problems at security checks.

Travel tips for snus users
01
Order beforehand
Abroad, the selection is often very limited. Order your supply before your holiday – we deliver quickly and discreetly.
02
Keep original packaging
Always travel in the original can – this makes it clear what's inside and avoids unnecessary questions at customs.
03
Check legal situation
Especially when travelling outside Europe – a quick Google search to see if nicotine pouches are allowed at your destination can save a lot of trouble.
04
Do not use on the plane
Even if it's tobacco-free – most airlines prohibit nicotine pouches on board. Stick to the rules.
05
Take enough
On holiday, you quickly forget to restock. Better to pack one can too many than one too few.
06
Store cool
In the heat, pouches can dry out. Storing them in the shade or in the fridge keeps them fresh.
