What was Velo Large?
Velo Large was the large-format nicotine pouch range from British American Tobacco (BAT). While today's common Slim pouches are narrow and elongated, the Large pouches had a wider, more compact shape – very similar to classic Swedish snus.
This design had a clear advantage: The thick pouches completely filled the upper lip, which many users found more pleasant – especially if they had switched from smoking or real tobacco snus to tobacco-free nicotine pouches.
Velo Large had a pouch weight of approx. 0.8–1 g per portion – significantly more than today's Slim pouches with approx. 0.5 g. This provided a fuller mouthfeel and more consistent nicotine delivery over a longer period.
